Frequently asked questions

Where do I find Capybaras?
Capybaras spawn rarely in Jungle biomes, usually in small groups of 1-4 animals. You may need to explore multiple jungle areas or wait for them to spawn naturally.
What do I feed Capybaras to tame them?
You can tame a Capybara by feeding it Melons, Melon Slices, Sugar Cane, or Apples. Hold one of these items and right-click the Capybara until it's tamed.
How do I know if a Capybara is tamed?
A tamed Capybara will have a visual indicator showing it belongs to you, typically a collar or similar marking. You'll also be able to control it with a stick.
How do I make my Capybara sit or stand?
Hold a stick and right-click your tamed Capybara to toggle between sitting and standing. A sitting Capybara will stay in one place until you make it stand again.
Can I ride my Capybara?
Yes, hold a stick and sneak (hold Shift) while right-clicking your tamed Capybara to ride it. You can then move around while mounted.
How do I attach a chest to my Capybara?
Sneak (hold Shift) and right-click your tamed Capybara with a chest in your hand to attach it. The Capybara will then carry items for you.
Can I remove a chest from my Capybara?
Sneak and right-click the chest on your Capybara to remove it and retrieve your stored items.
Do Capybaras need food to survive?
Tamed Capybaras do not require ongoing food to stay alive—feeding them is only needed to tame them initially.
Can I breed Capybaras?
The mod does not include a breeding mechanic; Capybaras only spawn naturally in jungles.
Do Capybaras take up a lot of performance?
Capybara Mod is a small mod with minimal performance impact, though spawning many Capybaras in one area may affect framerate slightly.
