Overview

Species is a creature mod that fills the world with a whole cast of imaginative new animals and monsters. Instead of building around a single theme, it spreads its creatures across the places you already explore — the open skies, the forests, the caves, the water and the night — so almost every kind of trip has a chance to introduce something new.

Every creature is built to feel distinct rather than a re-skin of a vanilla mob. Each one has its own model, animations, sounds, drops and behaviour, and they react to the world and to the player in different ways. Some are shy and passive, some are territorial, and some will actively hunt you, so the world feels both more alive and, at times, more dangerous.
