ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village Wiki & Guide

Overhauled villages use entirely new building layouts, themed palettes, and decorative props that vanilla villages never generate, so if the houses look unfamiliar and the paths are laid out differently, you've found one. Check the structure style against the biome — each theme has its own look, so a desert village won't resemble a plains one.

Yes, for the most part — villages are placed during world generation, so chunks you've already loaded keep their original villages. You can still find overhauled villages by exploring into ungenerated chunks in an existing world.

The mod is built for Java Edition, so it won't run on Bedrock. Bedrock players looking for a similar experience would need a separate Bedrock-specific village addon, since this one can't be ported directly.

It generally plays fine alongside biome and structure mods, but two mods that both rewrite village generation can conflict and cause broken or overlapping layouts. If villages look wrong, test with only this mod enabled to isolate the culprit.
