What does Elytra Trims let you do?

It lets you customize the elytra with armor trims, dye it any color, and apply banner patterns, so your wings can match your armor or fly a custom design.

How do you apply a trim to an elytra?

Use a smithing table with a smithing template, the elytra and a trim material, just as you would trim armor — bringing the vanilla trim patterns and materials to your wings.

Does Elytra Trims need to be on the server?

In multiplayer the mod must be installed on the server, but this does not prevent players without the mod from joining.

How do I put a trim on my elytra?

Craft or find a smithing template for the trim you want, then use a smithing table with your elytra, the template, and the matching material to apply it. The elytra keeps its flight behavior — only the appearance changes.

What materials can I use for Elytra Trims?

The same trim materials used on armor work here, such as gold, iron, diamond, netherite, redstone, lapis, emerald, quartz, amethyst, and copper. Each gives a different color and pattern on the elytra.

Does trimming an elytra change how it flies?

No. Trims are purely cosmetic, so flight speed, durability, and firework boosting all work exactly the same as an untrimmed elytra.

Can I remove a trim from my elytra?

You can swap it for a different trim by using the smithing table again with a new template and material. There is no separate 'untrim' item, so plan which trim you want before applying.
