How do I get started with Beautify Refabricated?
Craft a Botanist Workbench first, since it's the core station for most of the mod's decorative items. From there you can branch into blinds, lattices, picture frames, lamps, and candelabras as you gather the matching wood types and materials.
What do I need to craft blinds?
Blinds are made per wood type, so you'll need the matching planks or wood materials plus a few common crafting ingredients. Check the recipe in JEI/REI once you have the Botanist Workbench, since each wood variant uses its own recipe.
How do blinds actually work as window coverings?
Place a blind in front of a window opening and interact with it to raise or lower the slats. They block light and sight lines when closed, and you can toggle them without breaking the block.
My blinds won't open or close — what am I doing wrong?
Make sure you're interacting with the correct face and that nothing is obstructing the block. Blinds also need to be placed on a valid surface; if they're floating or clipped into another block, they won't respond properly.
