How do I get started with Ae2 Extras?
Craft the lowest-tier cells first, since the mod's storage components and cells follow the same progression as base AE2 but extend past the vanilla tiers. You need a working ME network and a Charger or Inscriber setup before any of the higher-tier components become craftable.
What's the difference between a Mono cell and a regular ME storage cell?
A Mono cell holds only one type of item or fluid, while a standard ME storage cell can hold many different types up to its type limit. Mono cells trade flexibility for raw capacity, so they're best for bulk single-resource storage like cobblestone or a specific fluid.
Why does my 16m ME Storage Cell show fewer items than I expected?
ME storage cells are limited by both bytes and types, and once you hit the type limit the cell refuses new item types even if bytes remain. Split bulk items into Mono cells and keep mixed items in standard cells to avoid wasting capacity.
Can I use Ae2 Extras cells in a standard ME Drive?
Yes, the storage cells are designed to slot into normal ME Drives and ME Chests just like base AE2 cells. Portable cells work in your inventory or in a Cell Workbench for configuration.
