How to Upgrade Your ME Storage with AE2 Extras Cells

Choosing the Right Cell Size

AE2 Extras adds storage cells at tiers beyond vanilla AE2, letting you scale from small to massive storage without stacking dozens of drives. Start by deciding whether you need item storage, fluid storage, or both. The mod provides standard ME Storage Cells (items), ME Fluid Storage Cells, and Mono variants that lock a cell to a single item or fluid type for extra density.

Installing and Formatting

1. Craft the cell tier you need (for example a 4m ME Storage Cell) using the corresponding ME Storage Component.

2. Place it into an ME Drive or ME Chest connected to your network.

3. Open the cell's terminal view and use a storage component or cell workbench to partition it if you want to reserve space.

4. For Mono cells, insert the exact item or fluid you want the cell to hold — it will only accept that type.

Practical Tips

  • Keep a mix of general cells and Mono cells: general cells for varied loot, Mono cells for bulk farms like cobblestone or water.
  • Fluid cells behave like portable tanks on your network; pipe fluids in via an ME Fluid Import Bus.
  • Higher tiers hold more but cost more components, so upgrade only when your current cell is consistently full.
