How to Store Fluids on Your ME Network with AE2 Extras

Fluid Storage Basics

AE2 Extras adds ME Fluid Storage Cells and Mono Fluid Storage Cells so your ME network can hold liquids alongside items. This is ideal for automating lava, water, or modded fluids without external tanks.

Adding Fluid Storage

1. Craft an ME Fluid Storage Cell at your desired tier.

2. Insert it into an ME Drive on your network.

3. Place an ME Fluid Import Bus against a tank, machine, or fluid source and connect it to the network.

4. Use an ME Fluid Export Bus or ME Fluid Storage Bus to move fluids out or expose an external tank.

Mono vs General Fluid Cells

  • General fluid cells accept any fluid, splitting capacity across types.
  • Mono fluid cells lock to one fluid and store far more of it — great for a dedicated lava or water reserve.
  • Partition general cells if you want to reserve room for specific fluids.

Tips

  • Fluids don't stack like items, so plan capacity generously.
  • Combine with Portable Fluid Cells for mobile fluid transport.
  • Check your drive's channel usage; large fluid cells still consume a channel per drive bay.
