Frequently asked questions

How do I start vein mining?
Sneak (hold the sneak key) while mining any ore or block to activate vein mining—your entire connected vein will break at once. If you have the mod installed, you can also bind a dedicated key in your controls settings for vein mining without needing to sneak.
Does vein mining work on servers without the mod?
Yes. Sneaking while mining works on any server, even if the server doesn't have the mod installed. Players with the mod get the additional convenience of a keybind, but the core sneaking feature is available to everyone.
Why did my tool break during vein mining?
Tool Protection stops mining before your tool reaches zero durability, but if you're still losing tools, check that the feature is enabled in your mod settings. Some server configurations may disable this protection.
Can I vein mine stone or dirt?
Yes, vein mining works on any connected block type, not just ores. You can mine entire veins of stone, dirt, or any other block by sneaking while mining.
