Craft a Ship Helm using the mod's crafting recipe (check your crafting menu or JEI for exact ingredients). Once you have one, place it on top of a detached floating hull made of buoyant blocks, then right-click it to assemble your ship.

Your hull must be completely detached from the terrain—if any blocks are touching the ground or connected to solid land, the helm won't assemble. Break any connecting blocks and ensure your entire structure is floating freely.

Lighter blocks like wool, wood planks, and logs have low density and float high; heavier blocks like stone, iron, and gold sink and pull your ship down. Check the density ratings in the mod guide to plan your hull—mix buoyant and heavy blocks to achieve the waterline you want.

Add wool sails to a mast; the longer your ship, the more speed you gain from sails. You can also use nether sails for lava vessels and ghast drives for airships to increase forward thrust.
