Frequently asked questions

How do I know if No Chat Reports is actually working?
Open the chat and look for a visual indicator next to your messages, or check the mod's config screen for the current protection status. If signatures are being stripped, your messages will appear unsigned to other clients, and the Social Interactions screen will no longer offer a report option against you.
What's the difference between installing No Chat Reports on the client vs the server?
On the client alone, the mod refuses to send signed messages and disables telemetry, but the server may still enforce signing and reject or modify your chat. On the server alone, the server stops demanding signatures and won't accept reports, protecting all players regardless of their client. Installing on both sides gives the most consistent behavior.
Why can't I see chat messages from other players after installing this?
This usually happens when the client and server disagree about whether messages should be signed — for example, a vanilla server still requiring signatures while your client refuses to send them. Make sure both sides run the mod, or set the server to not require signatures so unsigned messages are accepted.
Can I still report other players' messages if I want to?
No. With the mod active, the reporting option in the Social Interactions screen is disabled because messages no longer carry the signatures the reporting system needs. This applies to everyone on a server running the mod, not just you.
