How to Stop Your Chat Messages From Being Reportable

What the mod actually changes

When you type in chat on a vanilla server, your client attaches a cryptographic signature to each message. That signature is what lets the Social Interactions screen tie a message back to your account and file a report. No Chat Reports strips that signature before the message leaves your client, so there is nothing for the reporting system to latch onto.

Steps to confirm it is working

1. Join any multiplayer server with the mod installed on your client.

2. Type a normal message in chat and send it.

3. Open the Social Interactions screen (the player list menu) and look at your own entry.

4. On a vanilla client you would see a chat signing status indicator; with the mod active, messages are sent unsigned, so the reporting option for your messages is unavailable to other players.

If you also run the mod on the server side, the server will accept unsigned messages from everyone and will not enforce signing. If only your client has it, some servers that require signed chat may reject or hide your messages — in that case, install it on the server too, or check whether the server enforces secure chat.

Why this matters

Without signatures, nobody can prove a specific message came from your account, which is the whole point of the reporting feature. This is the core protection the mod provides.
