Installing No Chat Reports on Client, Server, or Both (and What Changes)
Pick your side
The mod behaves differently depending on where it runs, so decide based on what you want to protect.
- Client only: Your client refuses to sign outgoing messages. You stay unlinkable, but servers that enforce secure chat may reject your messages or show them differently.
- Server only: The server stops requiring signatures and stops enforcing chat reporting for everyone on it. Players with vanilla clients can still send signed messages, but the server will not act on reports.
- Both sides: Full protection. Unsigned messages are accepted, reporting is disabled server-wide, and your client never signs anything.
Steps
1. Identify your modloader (Forge or Fabric) and drop the matching build into the correct mods folder.
2. For a server, place the jar in the server's mods folder and restart.
3. For a client, place it in your instance's mods folder and launch.
4. Join and test chat. If messages fail to appear on a strict server, add the mod server-side as well.
Verify
Check that chat still works normally for you and that the Social Interactions screen no longer offers reporting for unsigned messages.
