Fixing Chat Problems After Installing No Chat Reports

Common symptoms

After installing the mod, you may notice messages not showing up, being marked as modified, or a server complaining about unsigned chat. This usually means a mismatch between client and server signing requirements.

Fixes

1. Messages rejected on a server: Install the mod on the server too. A server that enforces secure chat will not accept unsigned messages from a modded client.

2. Messages show as modified/unsigned to others: This is expected — that is the protection working. Other players simply cannot report those messages.

3. Chat works but reporting still appears for others: Confirm the mod is loaded on the server; client-only installs do not change what the server enforces.

4. Mod not loading: Double-check you downloaded the build for your exact modloader (Forge vs Fabric) and that it sits in the correct mods folder.

When to use both sides

If you run a server and want reporting disabled for everyone, install it server-side. If you are a player on someone else's server, client-side is your only option, and you may need to accept that some strict servers reject unsigned chat.

Quick check

Rejoin, send a test message, and open the Social Interactions screen to see whether reporting options are gone.
