Frequently asked questions
How do I turn on the no-shading effect after installing the mod?
The mod applies its flat lighting automatically once it's loaded, so there's nothing to toggle in a menu. If you still see shaded faces, check that the mod is actually enabled in your mod loader and that no other lighting or shader mod is overriding it.
Does this mod work with shaders?
No — shader packs replace the vanilla lighting and rendering pipeline, so they will override the mod's flat lighting. Disable your shader pack if you want the uniform no-shading look.
Why do some blocks still look shaded?
Blocks that use their own custom rendering, like some modded blocks or entities, may not be affected by the mod's lighting changes. Also make sure you're not running a resource pack or another mod that re-adds directional shading.
Do clouds and block entities get the flat lighting too?
Yes, the mod is designed to remove shading from clouds and block entities as well as regular blocks. If clouds still look shaded, another mod that changes cloud rendering is likely conflicting.
