How to Upgrade Silent Gear to Netherite or Higher Tiers

Tiering Up Materials

Silent Gear does not use a single "upgrade to netherite" button. Instead, you upgrade by rebuilding parts from better materials. Netherite itself is one such material, but the mod also adds its own high-tier metals like Crimson Steel and Tyrian Steel that can rival or exceed netherite depending on the trait mix. To upgrade, salvage your current tool at the Gear Smithing Table, then craft new heads, bindings, or rods from the higher-tier material and reassemble.

Modpack Tiers

In modpacks that add metals like Allthemodium, those materials are usually registered as Silent Gear materials too. The same rule applies: obtain the ingot, stamp a template, craft the part, and swap it in. Check the tooltip of the new part to confirm its traits and stats before replacing a part you like.

Preserve What Works

You do not have to replace every part at once. If your rod already gives a trait you want, keep it and only upgrade the head. This lets you carry forward useful traits while raising raw stats. Salvage is non-destructive to the parts themselves, so you can always revert if the new material underperforms.
