How to Make and Use Alloys and Custom Metals

Build the Alloy Forge

Custom metals in Silent Gear are produced in the Alloy Forge. Place the forge, give it fuel, and insert the base metals you want to combine. The forge melts inputs and outputs an Alloy Ingot of the resulting metal. Recipes are defined by the mod's alloy system, so the exact inputs matter — mixing the wrong metals produces nothing or a different alloy than intended.

Common Alloy Families

Silent Gear ships with several alloy families, including Azure Electrum, Azure Silver, Blaze Gold, Crimson Steel, and Tyrian Steel. Each has its own dust, ingot, nugget, and block forms, and each contributes distinct traits when used in tools. Nether-derived alloys such as Blaze Gold lean toward fire or heat traits, while Azure-family metals tend toward magic or precision traits. Use the forge's interface to preview what a given mix will produce before you commit your ingots.

Use Alloys in Gear

Once you have alloy ingots, treat them like any other tool material: stamp a template, craft a head, binding, or rod, and assemble. Alloy parts often carry traits you cannot get from base metals, which is the main reason to bother with the forge. Keep a small stock of each alloy so you can swap parts when a build underperforms.
