Spiders Produce Webs Mod is a minimalistic configurable mod which makes spiders and cave spiders periodically produce a web when a player is close. Webs can only be produced if the spider is on an air block. With this mod, the spiders will occasionally create a web, but only if the player is nearby.

How do I make spiders produce webs?
Just stay within the configured distance of a spider and wait — it will periodically place a web on its own. The spider must be standing on an air block for a web to be produced, so spiders sitting on solid ground won't make any.
Why aren't my spiders making webs?
Check that you're close enough (within maxDistanceToSpiderBlocks) and that the spider is on an air block. Spiders standing on solid blocks, or players too far away, won't trigger web production.
Do cave spiders also produce webs with this mod?
Yes, both regular spiders and cave spiders produce webs when a player is nearby. Cave spiders are especially useful for farming since they spawn in large numbers in mineshafts.
How close do I need to be for spiders to make webs?
That's controlled by the maxDistanceToSpiderBlocks config option, which defaults to 32 blocks. You can raise or lower it in the config file to change how far away a player can be and still trigger web production.
