Rechiseled vs Chipped: Which Decorative Block Mod Should You Use
Rechiseled and Chipped are both decorative block mods, and players frequently compare them. They overlap in purpose but differ in how you interact with them.
How Rechiseled Works
Rechiseled centers on the Chisel. You take an existing block and cycle it through variants in place. There is no large menu of recipes to memorize. The mod focuses on planks, bricks, pillars, mosaics, crates, barrels, bookshelves, and trapdoors, with connecting and non-connecting versions of many shapes.
How Chipped Works
Chipped uses a workbench-style interface where you insert a base block and pick from a large grid of variants. It tends to offer a wider catalog per block type and a more visual selection screen.
Which to Pick
- Choose Rechiseled if you want fast in-world conversion and a smaller, focused set of building styles.
- Choose Chipped if you want the largest possible variety and do not mind using a dedicated workstation.
- You can run both together. They add different blocks, so they generally do not conflict, though some overlapping styles may look similar.
Compatibility Notes
Both mods are client-and-server mods. If you play on a server, the server must have them installed too, or the blocks will not appear correctly for other players.
