Building Detailed Walls and Floors with Rechiseled Patterns
Rechiseled shines when you combine its pattern variants instead of using one texture everywhere. This guide covers a practical approach to detailed builds.
Plan Your Pattern Layers
Decide on three roles for your blocks: a base fill, a border or trim, and an accent. For example, use a plain plank variant as the base, a brick pattern variant as trim, and a mosaic variant as an accent panel.
Step-by-Step Wall Build
1. Fill the wall area with your base variant.
2. Chisel a strip of blocks along the top and bottom edges into a contrasting variant to act as trim.
3. Add vertical pillars at regular intervals using a pillar or beam variant.
4. Insert mosaic or pattern variants in the spaces between pillars for visual interest.
5. Use connecting variants for large flat areas so the texture flows, and non-connecting variants for borders so edges stay crisp.
Floors
For floors, flooring variants read as planks laid flat, while brick paving variants look like stone or tile. Mix them in a checker or stripe pattern. Use connecting variants across the main field and non-connecting variants to mark walkways.
Stairs and Slabs
Remember that stairs and slabs have their own variant lists. Chisel them separately to match your walls, otherwise the shapes will not blend.
Tip
Build a small test wall in a spare area first. Cycling variants in place is fast, so you can experiment without wasting blocks.
