How to Generate Power with PneumaticCraft: Biodiesel and the Refinery

Making Biodiesel

Biodiesel is a renewable fuel made from Ethanol and Vegetable Oil. You'll need a Refinery and a Fluid Mixer. First, grow crops like Corn or Soybeans (from PneumaticCraft) and process them in a Squeezer to get Vegetable Oil and Ethanol. Then combine them in a Fluid Mixer to produce Biodiesel.

Using Biodiesel

Biodiesel can be burned in a Liquid Compressor to generate compressed air, or in a Pneumatic Generator to produce RF/energy (depending on your modpack). It's also used as fuel in some PneumaticCraft machines. Store it in Tanks or Buckets.

The Refinery

The Refinery processes Crude Oil into Diesel, Kerosene, Lubricant, and other fractions. Crude Oil can be pumped from the world using a Pump or found in Oil Reservoirs. Each fraction has different uses — Lubricant is needed for advanced machines, and Kerosene can power Jetpacks.

Tips

Set up a steady crop farm to keep Biodiesel production running. Use Pressure Tubes to move fluids between machines, or Fluid Pipes if you have them. Keep an eye on pressure — the Refinery needs a constant air supply. A Liquid Compressor fed with Biodiesel is a great way to power your entire base once you have a reliable fuel source.
