How to Use the Alembic for Potion Brewing

What the Alembic Does

The Alembic is the Betweenlands' brewing apparatus. It distills and processes ingredients into potions and extracts that overworld brewing stands cannot make. You'll need it to create many of the mod's unique consumables and crafting intermediates.

Setting Up and Operating

Place the Alembic on a solid block in your base. It typically works alongside a heat source and requires you to insert ingredients into its slots. Add the base liquid or ingredient first, then the modifier or catalyst, and let it process. The Alembic may need to be activated or may run automatically depending on the recipe. Collect the output from the result slot once processing finishes.

Practical Tips

Keep a chest of common Betweenlands flora near your Alembic so you can brew without running back and forth. Experiment with combinations — many potion effects in the Betweenlands are tied to specific plants and creature parts like Anadia Gills or Anadia Scales. If a recipe fails, remove the ingredients and double-check you're using the correct base. Brew several batches at once and store finished potions in a labeled chest so you always have healing and utility options before heading into the swamp.
