How to Craft and Use the Animator and Gem Blocks

Building the Animator Setup

The Animator is the Betweenlands' core crafting machine for life-related items. You place it on the ground and power it using gem blocks — specifically the Middle Gem Blocks such as the Aqua Middle Gem Block. The gem block sits adjacent to or beneath the Animator depending on the recipe, and the Animator consumes its charge to perform animations that create or transform items.

Using Gem Ores

Middle Gem Ores (like Aqua Middle Gem Ore) are found underground in the Betweenlands. Mine them with a pickaxe of sufficient tier, then craft the raw gems into Middle Gem Blocks. These blocks are the fuel/power source for Animator recipes. Different gem types correspond to different Animator functions, so collect several kinds. Place the required ingredients into the Animator's slots, ensure the correct gem block is in position, and activate it. The Animator will run its animation and output the result. If nothing happens, check that the gem block still has charge and that your recipe matches the gem type — mismatched gems are the most common reason an Animator appears broken.
