How to Use the Storage Tool to Move and Configure Sophisticated Storage Blocks

What the Storage Tool Does

The Storage Tool is a handheld item that lets you pick up, rotate, and reconfigure Sophisticated Storage blocks without breaking them and spilling their contents. It is the safest way to relocate a full chest, barrel, or shulker box.

Moving a Container

1. Craft or obtain a Storage Tool.

2. Right-click the chest, barrel, or shulker box you want to move. The block is picked up with all items and upgrades intact.

3. Right-click again on the ground where you want to place it.

Configuring Blocks

Beyond moving, the Storage Tool can open configuration screens for certain blocks. Use it on a Storage Controller or Storage I/O to adjust settings without opening the full GUI. It can also toggle settings on upgrade modules installed in a container.

Practical Uses

• Rearrange your storage room without emptying every chest.
• Move a fully loaded shulker box between bases.
• Quickly swap a chest's position when reorganizing a wall of barrels.
• Check and adjust filter or I/O settings on the fly.
