How to Get Started with So Many Enchantments: Finding and Applying New Enchantments

Understanding How Enchantments Are Obtained

So Many Enchantments adds many enchantments on top of vanilla ones, but it does not add a separate enchanting table. You obtain the new enchantments through the same routes as vanilla: the enchanting table, anvil combining, enchanted books found in loot, villager trades, and fishing. The key difference is that the mod's enchantments are mixed into the normal enchantment pool, so you will see them appear on gear and books without any extra setup.

Practical Steps

1. Place a standard enchanting table with bookshelves around it as usual. The mod's enchantments are eligible to roll on the table alongside vanilla ones.

2. Enchant cheap gear first to see what appears. Because the pool is larger, you may need several attempts to hit a specific enchantment.

3. Collect enchanted books from dungeon chests, mineshaft chests, and other loot. Many of the mod's enchantments are more common as books than as direct table rolls.

4. Use an anvil to combine a book onto your tool, weapon, or armor. The anvil behaves normally; the mod enchantment simply appears in the output.

5. Check librarian villager trades. Librarians can offer the mod's enchanted books, so rerolling trades is a reliable way to target a specific one.

Tips

Keep a chest of spare books. Since the enchantment pool is diluted, stockpiling books and combining them later is more efficient than repeatedly enchanting the same item.
