How to Use the Runic Forge, Gem-Cutting, and Reforging Tables

Simply Swords adds several processing tables, and knowing which one to use saves a lot of confusion. Each table handles a different part of the gear customization loop.

The Runic Forge

This is your main workstation for weapons. Use it to reforge a weapon's modifiers and to socket sigils and runes into compatible gear. Place the weapon in the appropriate slot, add the sigil or rune, and confirm. Reforging changes the stat rolls on the item, so reforge repeatedly if you are chasing a specific modifier.

Gem-Cutting and Salvaging

Gem-cutting turns raw gems such as Arcanethyst into cut versions used in socketing and crafting. Salvaging breaks down unwanted weapons and armor into usable components, which feeds back into reforging and socketing. Run junk gear through salvaging instead of throwing it away.

Practical Tips

  • Cut gems before socketing; raw gems usually will not fit.
  • Salvage duplicates of unique weapons for sigils and materials.
  • Reforge a weapon before socketing so you do not waste runes on a bad roll.
  • Keep one stack of each cut gem type on hand for quick socketing.
