How to Find Dormant Relics and Decaying Relics

Relic-type items in Simply Swords are progression pieces rather than ordinary loot. The Decaying Relic is listed among the mod's items, and dormant relics are the kind of item players search for when trying to unlock unique weapons.

Where Relics Come From

Relics are found as loot in generated structures and from the mod's hostile mobs. They are not crafted from a standard recipe. Because they are rare, focus on exploring dungeons, strongholds, and any structure the mod adds spawners or bosses to. Fighting mod mobs rather than running past them is the other reliable route.

What Relics Are For

Relics act as keys or components in the mod's progression. Holding one may be required before certain unique weapons or upgrades become available through the Runic Forge or related tables. Do not salvage a relic until you have confirmed it is not needed for a weapon you want.

Practical Tips

  • Keep relics in a dedicated chest so you do not accidentally salvage them.
  • Clear structures fully; relics often sit in side rooms.
  • Fight mod mobs on sight, since several drop relic-type items.
  • Check the tooltip before using a relic, as some require a specific weapon or table.
