Using the Advanced Transtructor to Swap Blocks in Place

The Advanced Transtructor goes beyond simple placement: it can replace existing blocks with the block you're holding, letting you re-skin builds or upgrade materials without breaking and re-placing everything by hand.

Swapping a run of blocks

1. Put the block you want to swap *to* in your hotbar and select it.

2. Aim the Advanced Transtructor at the first block you want replaced.

3. Right-click to convert that block and the run behind it into your held block, pulling replacements from your inventory.

Practical uses

  • Upgrade a cobblestone wall to stone brick without dismantling it.
  • Reface a floor with a different material while keeping the same shape.
  • Replace temporary scaffolding blocks with your final build material once the structure is done.

Things to watch

  • The tool only swaps blocks it's allowed to replace; protected or unbreakable blocks won't change.
  • Keep enough of the target block in your inventory, or the swap stops partway.
  • Test on a small section first so you understand the direction the swap travels before committing to a large build.

This makes the Advanced Transtructor the go-to tool for renovations rather than fresh construction.
