Similsax Transtructors Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I craft the
Basic Transtructor?
Craft it using the mod's own recipe, which is shown in JEI/REI once the mod is installed. The
Basic Transtructor is the entry-level tool, so its recipe is the cheaper of the two and uses common materials rather than rare ones.

Advanced Transtructor?
The
Basic Transtructor places and extends blocks in a line, while the
Advanced Transtructor can also swap existing blocks in place and offers more control over what gets placed. Use Basic for building out walls, floors, and bridges, and Advanced when you need to replace blocks without breaking them first.

Hold the Transtructor and right-click against a block face to place blocks in the direction you're aiming. The tool consumes blocks from your inventory, so make sure you're carrying the material you want placed.
How do I extend a wall or floor with the
Basic Transtructor?
Aim at the edge of the existing wall or floor and right-click to extend it outward in the direction you're facing. Keep right-clicking to continue the line, and the tool will keep pulling blocks from your inventory.
How do I swap blocks in place with the
Advanced Transtructor?
Select the block you want to place, then right-click on the block you want to replace. The
Advanced Transtructor removes the target block and puts the new one in its place without you having to break and re-place it manually.

The most common causes are running out of the block you're trying to place, aiming at a face the tool can't extend from, or being out of range. Check your inventory for the material and make sure you're targeting a solid block face.
Does the Transtructor use durability or blocks from my inventory?
It pulls the blocks it places from your inventory, so you need to be carrying the material you want to use. Check the tool's own behavior in-game for whether it also has durability, since that varies by tool tier.
Can I use the Transtructor to build bridges across gaps?
Yes, this is one of its main uses. Stand at the edge of a gap, aim across it, and right-click repeatedly to lay a line of blocks outward, which is much faster than placing each block by hand.
Does the Transtructor work with other mods' blocks?
It generally works with any block that can be placed normally, including blocks from other mods, as long as the block has a valid placement. Blocks with special placement rules or tile entities may not behave as expected.
Does the Transtructor cause lag on servers?
Placing many blocks in a single action can cause a brief spike, especially on servers with lots of players or heavy block entities. If you notice lag, place in smaller batches rather than extending very long lines at once.
