How do I know which items are new in my inventory?
Newly picked-up items show an animated star over their slot in your inventory. The star appears automatically the moment you acquire the item, so you don't need to enable anything to see it.
Where do I change the Item Highlighter settings?
Open the mod's config screen, which you can reach from the mod list or the in-game config menu if your mod loader provides one. All the marker behavior and color options live there.
Why did the star disappear when I hovered over the item?
By default the mod clears a marker once you hover over that item, treating it as 'seen.' If you want the star to stay until you close the inventory, change the removal behavior in the config.
How do I keep the stars visible until I close my inventory?
In the config, set the marker removal to happen on inventory close instead of on hover. Then every new item keeps its star for the whole session until you exit the inventory screen.
