How to Get the Best Loot from Better Dungeons

Where Loot Spawns

Loot in Better Dungeons appears in chests scattered across the redesigned rooms rather than in a single central chest. Because the layout is larger, expect more chests per dungeon than vanilla, but also expect some to be guarded by spawners or trapped. Check corners, alcoves, and rooms behind side corridors that are easy to miss.

Prioritizing Chests

Do not grab everything the moment you see it. First clear and light the room, break any spawner, then open chests. This prevents a spawner from activating while your inventory is open. If a chest sits on a pressure plate or in front of a dispenser, disarm the trap before looting. Bring an empty inventory or a shulker box so you can carry more out in one trip.

What to Do With the Haul

Sort your loot before leaving: keep enchanted gear, rare materials, and anything you cannot identify, and leave low-value filler behind if your inventory is full. If you find duplicate spawners, note their coordinates so you can return with silk touch tools if you want to relocate them. Mark the dungeon entrance on your map so you can come back for anything you left behind.
