How to Stop TreeCapitator from Breaking Your Log Buildings

Why It Happens

The pack cannot tell a natural tree from a player-built log structure. Any vertical stack of connected logs can be treated as a tree, so breaking one log in your cabin wall may collapse the whole column.

Workarounds

  • Disable the pack with /datapack disable before doing log-heavy building, then re-enable it afterward.
  • Break logs from the top down when possible; the pack usually follows logs upward from the broken block, so starting at the top limits the cascade.
  • Use a different block for structural columns (stone, planks, stripped logs placed separately) if you want to keep the pack on.

Protecting Specific Areas

There is no built-in per-region toggle in the base pack. If you need fine control, combine it with a protection or region plugin/mod that blocks block-breaking events in that area — the pack respects cancelled break events in most setups.

Recovering Lost Builds

If a wall collapses, the logs drop as items, so you can usually pick them back up and rebuild. Keep a clear inventory space before chopping near your base to avoid items despawning.
