How to Chop Down a Tree Instantly with TreeCapitator

Break One Log, Get the Whole Tree

TreeCapitator works passively: once the data pack is active in your world, you do not need to craft anything or press a special key. Simply walk up to any tree and break the bottom log with an axe (or by hand, depending on your setup). The pack detects the connected wood blocks above and removes them all at once, dropping every log as an item.

What Counts as a Tree

  • The pack follows connected logs upward from the block you break.
  • Leaves are typically cleared too, so you are not left with floating foliage.
  • Natural trees (oak, birch, spruce, jungle, acacia, dark oak) are the intended targets.
  • Player-built log pillars may also trigger, so be careful when mining in your own builds.

Practical Tips

  • Stand clear of the trunk before breaking the bottom log — falling logs can still be picked up, but the sudden drop of many items can lag a weak server.
  • Use an axe for speed; the pack does not change tool durability rules, so each log still costs durability as normal.
  • If a tree does not fall, check that the logs are actually connected (no gaps from earlier mining) and that the data pack is enabled with /datapack list.
