How to Use Throwing Weapons Effectively
Craft and stock up
Throwing knives, throwing axes, javelins, and boomerangs are ranged melee hybrids. Craft them the same way as other Spartan weapons — material plus handle — but expect them to be consumed or dropped on impact. Because they're expendable, mass-produce them from cheap materials like iron or stone rather than diamond. Keep a stack in your offhand or hotbar for quick access.
Aim and throw
Hold the throwing weapon and right-click (or your mod's configured throw key) to launch it. Throwing knives fly fast and are good for finishing weakened mobs; throwing axes arc more and hit harder; javelins have longer range and pierce better; boomerangs return to you if they don't hit a block. Practice the arc in an open field — gravity affects all of them, so lead your target slightly at distance.
Recover and combine with melee
Most thrown weapons drop on the ground where they land, so walk over them to pick them back up. Boomerangs are the exception and come back automatically. A strong tactic is to open with a throw to soften a target, then close the gap with a longsword or spear. Against creepers, throwing knives let you kill from outside blast range. Against skeletons, a javelin outranges their bow if you strafe. Always carry a backup melee weapon in case you run out of throwables mid-fight.
