What Happens to Your Pet's Items and Name After Revival

The Core Behavior

Revival through the Etheric Gem restores the pet as a living, tamed entity. It does not restore a corpse, and it does not pull items out of a death drop — anything the pet was carrying or wearing at the moment of death is handled by normal death-drop rules, not by the gem.

Names and Tamed Status

Because the gem is bound to a tamed pet, the revived animal comes back tamed and loyal to you. If you had given it a name tag, that name is part of the pet's saved data and is restored along with it. This is the main reason to bind pets you care about rather than relying on breeding replacements.

Managing Gear

  • If your pet wore armor or held an item, collect those drops from where it died before or after reviving — the gem won't re-equip them automatically.
  • Re-equip armor and held items on the revived pet manually.
  • If the pet died far away or in lava, the drops may be gone; the gem still brings the pet back, but the gear is lost.

Planning Ahead

Bind valuable pets early, keep spare gems, and treat gear as disposable compared to the pet itself. The gem's job is the animal, not its inventory.
