How to Travel Up and Down with a Quartz Elevator

There is no GUI and no keybind to learn. To ride a Quartz Elevator, simply stand on top of the block. The mod detects the matching block above or below in the same column and moves you there.

• To go up, stand on a lower elevator block that has a matching one above it.
• To go down, stand on an upper elevator block that has a matching one below it.

Things that stop it working

• Wrong block type. A Quartz Elevator will not send you to a Smooth Quartz Elevator.
• Nothing matching in the column. A lone block with no partner above or below does nothing.
• Obstruction. Solid blocks placed between the two elevators can block the link, so keep the column clear.

If you want a one-way trip, you can still place a single pair and simply not build a return block — but remember the elevator needs a partner to function at all. For multi-floor bases, stack several matching blocks so each floor has its own stop.
