How to Build a Working Quartz Elevator Column
Place the blocks in a vertical line
A Quartz Elevator only teleports you between blocks of the same type that are stacked in the same column. Quartz Elevator connects to Quartz Elevator, and Smooth Quartz Elevator connects to Smooth Quartz Elevator — mixing the two types in one column will not link them.
1. Decide on your travel column (a single X/Z coordinate).
2. Place your chosen elevator block at the bottom floor.
3. Place another of the same block directly above it, at the destination floor.
4. Keep them on the same X/Z axis — no diagonal offsets.
Test the link
Stand on the lower block. You should be lifted to the next matching block above. Stand on the top block and you should drop to the one below. If nothing happens, the usual cause is a mismatched block type or a block placed off-axis.
You can chain more than two blocks in one column to create multiple stops. Each block links to the nearest matching block above and below it, so a tall column lets you hop floor by floor rather than jumping straight to the top.
