Open the mod's config and set the leaf disappearance delay to its minimum value. At the fastest setting, leaves are removed the moment the last log block of the tree is broken, so you can grab drops right away.
Why aren't the leaves disappearing when I chop down a tree?
The mod only triggers when the last connected log block of that tree is broken, so partial chops leave the leaves in place. If you're breaking logs one at a time from the top down, finish the trunk completely and the leaves should clear.
Do I need to enable anything in the config for the mod to work?
Most setups work out of the box, but check that the mod is enabled and that the leaf-clearing feature isn't toggled off in the config file. If you're on a server, the server-side config controls the behavior for everyone.
