How to Tell Which Mod Owns a Structure Without Leaving Your Base
Understand What the Command Reads
The mod does not scan the world or guess — it queries the game's structure registry at a given position. That means it only knows about structures the game itself tracks, which is the same set the vanilla /locate command can find. If a build is not registered as a structure, the command will not see it, no matter how large it looks.
Plan Your Inspection
If you are at your base and want to identify a structure you saw earlier, note its approximate coordinates and dimension. If you are an operator, use /witsop with those coordinates to get the answer remotely. If you are not an operator, you will need to travel back to the structure and run /wits while standing inside it. Either way, the output is the same: a list of registry names.
Interpret Registry Names
Registry names follow the namespace:path format. The namespace identifies the mod or vanilla. If you see more than one entry, the position is inside overlapping structures — common at biome borders or where mods deliberately nest structures. Write down the names and cross-reference them against your mod list to confirm which mod adds the building. This avoids guesswork and is far more reliable than eyeballing the architecture.
