How to Stop Vein Miner From Breaking Too Many Blocks
Why It Over-Mines
Vein Miner chains through every connected block of the same type. On large ore veins or big trees this can strip a huge area in one swing, which is often more than you want — especially near builds or when you only need a few blocks.
Controlling the Behavior
1. The mod is managed through commands, so the first place to look is the commands section of the wiki. There you will find the options that limit or disable vein mining.
2. Use the command that disables the enchantment on your currently held tool. This stops the chain behavior for that item without destroying the enchantment permanently — you can re-enable it later.
3. If the mod exposes a block limit or radius setting, lower it so a single break only affects a small number of blocks. Check the commands section for the exact option name rather than guessing.
4. For temporary control, simply switch to an unenchanted tool. Any tool without the enchantment breaks blocks normally, one at a time.
Practical Tips
Keep a plain pickaxe and axe in your hotbar for precision work (building, trimming, harvesting single blocks) and reserve the enchanted tools for bulk gathering. This avoids accidental over-mining without needing to change commands mid-session.
