How to Get Custom Mob Heads and Transform Mobs in More Mobs Mod
Obtaining the custom heads
More Mobs works by attaching custom player heads to existing mobs. You need the heads first. The mod adds them to loot tables and/or creative inventory depending on your setup, so the most reliable way to test is to grab them from the creative inventory search bar using the mob name. In survival, check whether your server has
configured the heads to drop from the corresponding mobs — kill the base mob (zombie, skeleton, piglin, etc.) and look for a head drop.
Applying a head to a mob
Once you have a head, place it on the ground or hold it and use it on the target mob. The mod detects the head and swaps the mob's appearance and behavior to the matching variant. Supported base mobs include zombies, husks, drowned, skeletons, strays, wither skeletons, mooshrooms, piglins, pillagers, evokers, and vindicators.
- Right-click the mob with the head, or place the head and let the mob walk into it, depending on your config.
- If nothing happens, confirm the head matches a supported base mob — a zombie head will not convert a skeleton.
- Remove the head to revert the mob if the mod allows it.
Because the mod is server-side, other players see the transformation even without installing anything.
