How to Find and Explore Terralith's New Biomes

Terralith replaces most of the overworld's biome layout, so the fastest way to see its content is to travel. Because biome placement is driven by the mod's own noise system, you will not find the new biomes by walking a few hundred blocks from spawn.

Preparing for the Search

  • Craft a boat and gather food before you leave; many Terralith biomes are large and sparsely populated.
  • Bring a bed so you can set a respawn point if you cross an ocean or a canyon.
  • Use the F3 debug screen to read the biome name you are standing in. This is the most reliable way to confirm which Terralith biome you have entered.

Efficient Travel Routes

  • Sail along coastlines first. Terralith generates dramatic cliffs, islands, and ocean trenches, so a boat reveals more variety per minute than walking.
  • Move in one direction for a long stretch rather than circling. Biome regions are wide, and doubling back wastes time.
  • When you hit a biome you like, mark the coordinates in a written note or on a map mod before continuing.

If you want a specific biome, the most practical approach is to keep exploring until you find it rather than trying to predict coordinates. Terralith's terrain is designed to be discovered by wandering.
