Stack Refill Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on automatic stack refill?
The mod works automatically once installed on the server or client, so there is no toggle to flip. Just keep a spare stack of the same item somewhere in your main inventory and it will be pulled into your hand when the current stack runs out.
Does stack refill work in singleplayer?
Yes, it works in singleplayer because your local world runs an integrated server. If you only install it on the server side in multiplayer, singleplayer worlds still benefit as long as the mod is loaded there too.
Where does the replacement stack have to be for refill to work?
The replacement must be in your main inventory, not in a shulker box, ender chest, or offhand. The mod looks for matching items in your inventory slots and swaps them into your hand.
Why isn't my hand refilling even though I have more of the item?
Check that the spare stack is actually in your main inventory and that it's the exact same item, since different durability, enchantments, or NBT data can prevent a match. Also make sure the mod is installed on the side that controls the inventory logic.
Can I use stack refill with tools that have durability?
Yes, when a tool breaks or its stack is depleted, the mod will pull a matching tool from your inventory if one exists. This is handy during long mining sessions so you don't have to stop and swap manually.
Does stack refill work during combat with swords and bows?
It works for weapons like swords when the stack is used up, and for bows it refills arrows from your inventory. You still need the replacement item in your main inventory for it to trigger.
Why do I see visual desync when the server runs stack refill?
Server-side-only setups can cause the client to briefly show the old stack or a ghost item because the client isn't aware of the swap yet. Installing the mod on both client and server usually resolves the visual mismatch.
Will stack refill work with food and potions?
Yes, eating food and drinking potions will trigger a refill from your inventory when the stack is consumed. Keep spare food or potions in your main inventory so they're available for the swap.
Does stack refill affect performance or cause lag?
The mod is lightweight and only checks inventory when a stack is depleted, so it shouldn't cause noticeable lag. If you run many inventory-modifying mods together, watch for conflicts rather than performance drops.
Is stack refill compatible with other inventory or combat mods?
It generally works alongside most mods, but inventory-management mods that auto-sort or auto-move items can interfere with the refill lookup. If refill stops working, try disabling auto-sort features or test with only this mod enabled.
