How to Survive Any Fall Using Hay Bales (Leap of Faith Setup)

Place the bale where you land, not where you jump

With this mod installed, a hay bale absorbs all fall damage for anything landing on it. That means the bale only needs to be at the bottom of your drop. Build your tower, cliff, or bridge as high as you like, then place a single hay bale on the ground directly below your launch point.

1. Stand at the edge and look straight down.

2. Note the exact block you would hit if you stepped off.

3. Place a hay bale on that block (or replace the top block of the landing spot with one).

4. Jump.

Making the landing reliable

  • A one-block bale is enough — you do not need a thick pile.
  • If you drift sideways while falling, widen the landing zone with a small pad of bales so you cannot miss it.
  • Bales placed on top of other bales still work, so you can build a raised landing platform at any height.
  • Falling onto the *side* of a bale does not count; you must land on the top face.
  • Mobs, items, and other entities also land safely, so this doubles as a mob-drop or item-drop catcher.

Once the bale is in place, the drop is completely safe regardless of height — the mod removes fall damage rather than reducing it.
