RFTools Dimensions Mod FAQ

12 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I create a new dimension with RFTools Dimensions?
Place a Dimension Builder and insert a Realized Dimension Tab into it to create and maintain a dimension. The Realized Dimension Tab is produced by combining an Empty Dimension Tab with dimlets in an Enscriber.
How do I make a Realized Dimension Tab?
Use the Enscriber with an Empty Dimension Tab and the dimlets you want to define the dimension. The resulting Realized Dimension Tab is then placed into a Dimension Builder to instantiate the dimension.
What is the Enscriber used for?
The Enscriber combines an Empty Dimension Tab with dimlets to produce a Realized Dimension Tab. It is also used to insert dimlets into empty dimlet types.
How do I get dimlets?
Dimlets are obtained by using Absorber blocks on the world: Biome Absorber, Block Absorber, Fluid Absorber, and Structure Absorber each extract the corresponding dimlet type from nearby blocks, biomes, fluids, or structures.
What does the Dimlet Workbench do?
The Dimlet Workbench is used to craft and combine dimlets. It also handles the dimlet_recipe and dimlet_cycle_recipe processes for converting or recycling dimlets.
What is the Dimension Editor for?
The Dimension Editor modifies an existing Realized Dimension Tab, allowing you to change its properties without rebuilding the dimension from scratch.
How do I monitor a dimension's status?
Use the Dimension Monitor to display information about a running dimension. The Activity Probe can also be placed to detect activity within a dimension.
What are Empty Dimlet types used for?
Empty Dimlet variants (Empty Biome Dimlet, Empty Block Dimlet, Empty Fluid Dimlet, Empty Sky Dimlet, Empty Terrain Dimlet, Empty Time Dimlet, Empty Feature Dimlet, Empty Structure Dimlet, Empty Tag Dimlet, Empty Attribute Dimlet, Empty Biome Category Dimlet, Empty Biome Controller Dimlet) are filled via the Enscriber to create their corresponding functional dimlets.
What are the Dimensional Essence and Lost Knowledge items for?
Common, Rare, and Legendary Dimensional Essence and Lost Knowledge are crafting materials used in dimlet recipes. They come in Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Legendary tiers matching the rarity of the dimlets they help produce.
What do Memory Modules and Energy Modules do?
Memory Modules (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary) and Energy Modules (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary) are used as components in Dimension Builder and dimlet-related crafting recipes. Higher tiers correspond to rarer recipes.
What is the Phased Field Generator used for?
The Phased Field Generator is a block used in dimension-related setups to project a phased field. It is crafted and placed like other RFTools Dimensions machines.
What are the Dimensional decorative blocks?
Dimensional Blank Block, Dimensional Block, Dimensional Cross Block, Dimensional Cross2 Block, Dimensional Pattern1 Block, Dimensional Pattern2 Block, and Dimensional Small Blocks are decorative building blocks crafted via shaped recipes. They are used for aesthetic construction, not dimension creation.
