How to Upgrade Storage Capacity and Use Upgrades

Storage Disks and Blocks

Storage Disks come in tiers (1k, 4k, 16k, 64k) and hold items; Fluid Storage Disks hold fluids. Higher tiers store more but cost more to craft. Place disks into Disk Drives connected to your network. Storage Blocks are the block-form equivalent for large fixed storage — place them and connect with Cables.

Applying Upgrades

Many Refined Storage blocks accept Upgrades in their upgrade slots. Speed Upgrades make Importers, Exporters, and Constructors work faster. Stack Upgrades increase how many items move per operation. Range Upgrades extend the reach of Wireless Grids. Fortune and Silk Touch Upgrades change how a Destructor breaks blocks. Regulator Upgrades keep a target amount in a container. Autocrafting Upgrades let an Exporter craft missing items.

Managing Capacity

When a disk fills, the Grid shows fewer free slots. Add more disks or move to a higher tier. Use a Disk Interface to swap disks in and out automatically, and a Storage Housing to craft disks. Keep an eye on fluid disks separately — they do not share space with item disks.
