Signaling and Logic in Railcraft
To manage complex rail networks, Railcraft provides a wireless signaling system. This allows for automated traffic control, preventing trains from colliding on shared tracks.
Signal Components
- Block Signal: Monitors a section of track (a "block"). If a cart is in the block, the signal turns Red, stopping other incoming trains.
- Distant Signal: Placed further down the line to warn a locomotive of the state of the next Block Signal.
- Signal Controller & Receiver Boxes: These blocks allow signals to interact with redstone logic wirelessly.
- Signal Tuner & Surveyor: Tools used to pair signals together. The Surveyor defines the start and end of a signal block, while the Tuner pairs controllers to receivers.
Signal Aspects
- Green: All clear; no carts in the block.
- Yellow: A cart is in the block but moving away from the signal.
- Red: A cart is in the block and either stationary or moving toward the signal.
