How to Fix Nvidium Not Working or Disabling Itself
If Nvidium is installed but you see no performance gain, it has almost certainly disabled itself. Work through these checks in order.
Confirm Your Hardware and GPU Assignment
Nvidium requires an Nvidia GPU from the supported generations onward. If your card is older, or if you are on an AMD or Intel GPU, the mod will not run at all. On laptops with both integrated and dedicated graphics, Windows may be launching Minecraft on the integrated chip. Open your system's graphics settings and force Minecraft to use the Nvidia GPU, then relaunch.
Remove Shader Conflicts
Nvidium and shaders are mutually exclusive. If Iris is installed and any shader pack is selected, Nvidium shuts off. Go into the shader selection screen and choose "Off" or disable shaders entirely, then restart the game. Do not expect to run shaders and Nvidium at the same time.
Check for Other Renderer Conflicts
Nvidium replaces
Sodium's rendering path, so it depends on
Sodium being present and functioning. If another mod overrides chunk rendering or the OpenGL pipeline, Nvidium may fail to engage. Temporarily test with only
Sodium and Nvidium enabled to isolate the conflict, then reintroduce mods one at a time.
After each change, restart the game fully and recheck the video settings screen to confirm Nvidium is active.
