How to Make Modded Metals Use Metals Ultra Textures
Confirm the Metal Is Supported
Metals Ultra only retextures metals it explicitly supports, and support grows over time. Before troubleshooting, check the pack's file list or its documentation to confirm your modded metal (for example, a specific alloy or ore from another mod) is covered. If it is not listed, no amount of configuration will add textures for it.
Load Order Matters
Resource packs are applied top-down, with higher packs overriding lower ones. If another pack also touches the same metal textures, it can hide Metals Ultra's versions.
- Open Options → Resource Packs.
- Move Metals Ultra above any pack that also changes metal or ore textures.
- Apply and let the game reload.
Check for Name Conflicts
Some mods register their metals under generic names that overlap with vanilla or with other mods. If a metal still looks unchanged, temporarily disable all other resource packs except Metals Ultra and reload. If the texture now appears, a conflicting pack was the cause — reintroduce packs one at a time to find the culprit.
After Mod Updates
When a metal-adding mod updates, its internal texture paths can change, which may break compatibility until the pack updates too. If a metal suddenly reverts to a default look after a mod update, that is usually the reason rather than a mistake on your end.
