Fixing NBT That Doesn't Paste (Chests, Signs, Spawners) on a Server

Check the two Litematica settings first

Almost every "NBT didn't paste" report comes down to one of two Litematica options being wrong. Open the Litematica config (or the in-game config menu) and verify:

  • commandUseWorldEdit = false
  • pasteNbtRestoreBehavior = None

If either is set differently, the Server Paster mod never gets a chance to inject the NBT into the command, and you get bare blocks with default data.

Confirm the mod is on both sides

The custom chat packet only works when the server also has the mod. If the server is vanilla or lacks the mod, the packet is ignored and you fall back to truncated commands. Ask the server admin to install it server-side.

The block-state skip rule

Litematica does not re-send tile entity data when the block state at the target already matches the schematic. This is the single most common cause of "my chest is empty after pasting." To force a refresh:

1. Break the affected blocks (or use /setblock to replace them with air).

2. Re-run the paste.

Verify the result

Open the chest, read the sign, or check the spawner's mob type. If NBT is present, the mod is working. If not, re-check the two config values above before assuming a bug.
